瓦斯貨車疑闖紅燈！　騎士遭撞左眼破裂
貨車駕駛闖紅燈，撞飛騎機車的夫妻，日前台北市興隆路發生一起嚴重事故，載瓦斯的小貨車，行駛在下坡路段，經過十字路口時，疑似沒注意前方是紅燈，搶快追撞雙載的潘姓夫妻，兩名傷者全身是傷、顱內出血，送醫治療，先生的左眼破裂，只剩單眼的視力。

小貨車直直往前，砰一聲，撞到一部機車，車上兩個人從坐墊上摔翻落地，動也不動，放慢速度再看一次，載滿瓦斯的駕駛經過路口，明明亮紅燈卻沒減速，撞上雙載騎士後，急忙下車查看。

附近店家：「也很大力也很慘，兩個騎摩托車的都倒了，試圖想要爬起來，但沒有爬起來。」

記者李潔：「事故地點就發生在這個十字路口，當時機車綠燈直行，沒想到遭到小貨車衝撞，而騎士被撞飛之後，左眼球當場破裂。」

警方調查，11日上午8點多，台北市興隆路四段，57歲潘姓騎士當天上午載著妻子出門，眼看綠燈　直直往前，偏偏45歲林姓駕駛，經過路口闖紅燈，這一撞　夫妻倆顱內出血，潘姓騎士左眼慘遭摘除。

附近店家：「剛設紅綠燈，在以前還沒設紅綠燈，雖然有(車禍)，好像都沒有那麼嚴重過，以前是裝閃黃燈的時候，大家經過這裡，都知道要看車子一下，(現在)反正一方看到有綠燈，綠燈那一方一定很快，紅燈忽略的那一方那就更慘了。」

回到事故地點，這窄窄的巷子　過去是閃燈，這幾年才變為紅綠燈設計，但附近居民指出，這紅綠燈與大路口原本的燈號靠得太近，常有人貪方便直直闖越，反而更危險。依照法令，闖紅燈開罰戰利品活動商品1800到5400元，但罰錢事小，再看一次撞擊瞬間，小貨車下坡行駛，卻疑似沒注意燈號，在路口撞上夫妻騎士，傷者左眼破裂摘除，成了一輩子難以復原的傷痛。

川普鬆口：對卡瓦諾指控若可信我們須做決定

川普總統19日加強為他提名的聯邦最高法院大法官卡瓦諾辯護，宣稱很難想像卡瓦諾這樣的人會從事性攻擊，不過指控他的克莉絲汀．福特如出席國會聽證，而她的說法證明可信，「我們必須做決定」。

儘管這句話顯示共和黨人不願公開表露的一線猶豫，川普仍堅定支持卡瓦諾。他說，目前的情況對卡瓦諾很不公平，「他是很傑出的人，我很難想像發生任何事情」。

在七周後將舉行期中選舉之時，野心勃勃地想奪回國會控制權的民主黨，極力把共和黨描述成企圖強硬對付性侵害的受害人，共和黨則小心翼翼，避免質疑福特的聲譽，並表示願意提供一切機會讓她提出她的說法。

川普說：「我很想看她說什麼。如果她出席，那很好。如果她不出席，將很不幸。」

參院司法委員會已邀請福特和卡瓦諾公開或私下向委員會宣誓作證。委員會主席葛拉斯理聲明，聽證仍安排在24日上午舉行，而福特如打算出席作證，必須在21日上午10點前提出書面聲明。

福特的律師沒有表明她是否將出席，只宣稱她希望進行「全面超黨派調查」，她也願意合作，可是葛拉斯理打算只請卡瓦諾和福特出席作證，「不是公平或富有誠信的調查」，應該傳喚另外一些證人。

律師說，趕著聽證沒有必要，也違反委員會發掘事實真相的任務。

福特如決定24日不出席，卡瓦諾通過參院認可的機會可能提高，因為共和黨參議員迄今大致都還支持他。

立場舉足輕重的共和黨溫和派參議員蘇珊．柯林斯說：「我覺得她如不出面作證，對卡瓦諾很不公平。」

福特曾表示願意向國會作證，可是她的律師18日宣稱，聯邦調查局(FBI)必須先調查她的指控，她才會作證。

但是，FBI已聲明不進行調查。葛拉斯理也發函正式拒絕民主黨委員要FBI調查的要求，宣稱要FBI調查發生在36年前的指控，不是要尋求事實真相，只是想把認可程序拖到期中選舉之後。
